Pilot knowledge retrieval Vitens

In knowledge driven organizations such as Vitens is the efficient use of available knowledge is an important basis for almost all activities. Whether its technology, research, projects, international cooperation, increasing the mobilization of knowledge is the key to success for the people involved.
Vitens needs, in addition to the common systems for document management, a flexible and easy form to open up knowledge and skills and to promote human interaction.
For this reason it was decided to test a new initiative to open up knowledge. The basis for this is the well known wikipedia environment, where users can find information quickly and easily themselves and enables them to share information and start discussions about various topics.
In cooperation with Brightwork BV, who developed this model – for a selected group of users – for Vitens, a “Company Environment” under the name Aquaduct was established to gain experience in a pilot project in the coming months. A user group of 60 employees of Vitens Water Technology and Vitens-Evides International will work with Aquaduct for eight months. The experience gained will be monitored closely and (statistically) evaluated and reported.
Assuming a positive outcome, this method of information retrieval will be integrated in the communication strategy of Vitens
