Industriewater Eerbeek tests environmentally friendly technology against limescale

Vibrations on audition

A technology which reduces limescale at process water at low cost making it available for reuse. This has been tested for a number of weeks at Industriewater Eerbeek (IWE). The test takes about 2 months and must prove whether this new technology can reduce current chemical dosage or even completely replace it. The test is one of the projects of the “Mannen van de WIT” and is supervised by Hans Wouters.

The technology is developed by the company String Energy. String Energy brings a number of products on the market, all based on vibration technology (string energy). Certain vibration frequencies can influence the characteristics of molecules, without changing in the molecule itself. String Energy is able to influence the vibration frequency, and transfer these vibrations – through a catalyst – on to the medium to be treated, eg water. Using the technology of String Energy lime water may be affected, which prevent calcium deposition.

High potential

For the marketing of this technology String Energy called “De Mannen van de WIT” for assistance. They assisted the company to establish and implement a marketing strategy aimed at applications in the water sector. Subsequently, the men looked in their network for a launching customer. It was Industriewater Eerbeek, a processor of industrial wastewater from the paper industry. The effluent is characterized by high calcium depositing (and odor) characteristics, which makes often dosage of substantial quantities of chemicals necessary in pipes, nozzles, pumps and valves to control.

If the results of pilot at Industriewater Eerbeek meet the expectations, there is a high potential for the String Energy technology.
