Brightwork

After the exiting semi-finals held on the 15th of September, Hans Wouters of Brightwork B.V. qualified as a finalist for the “Jonge Ondernemersprijs (JOP)” 2010 competition.
This annual prize, this year handed out for the ninth time, was founded to give an extra incentive to promising entrepreneurs from Groningen, Drenthe and Friesland who started their business between January 1st 2005 and December 31st 2008.

On Wednesday September 15th 2010, the 9 finalists of the JOP 2010 were announced. It was a beautiful day with wonderful initiatives. What was remarkable was the high “fun amount” of the companies. At the end of the afternoon, the head of the judges mr. Robert Veenstra announced the names of those going through to the finals.

For the county of Fryslân:

For the county of Groningen:

Up to the finals of November 23rd the nine finalists will present themselves at several meetings in their own county. Through this they will generate publicity for their business and collect points. From November 1st it will be possible for everyone to vote on their favorite finalist by texting. The points, texts and the verdict of the judges combined will yield the final scores of the finalists.

During the evening of the finals four awards will be handed out, one for each county and an overall award, the “Jonge Ondernemersprijs” of the North.

As of the 23rd of August, Eddy van Opijnen joined Brightwork B.V. as an internship student. Eddy is a currently working on completing the last phase of his bachelor degree in Environmental Science at the Van Hall Larenstein institute located in Leeuwarden. During a 10 week period, Eddy will be contributing to our new BioTrap project by thorough testing of the technology currently in development at Brightwork. During the project Eddy will be involved with operational proceedings. We are convinced that Eddy will make a useful contribution to our work.
