Organic waste installation nearly completed
Early 2008 Essent Milieu requested Brightwork assist with the optimization of pilot research to increase the sustainability and energy efficiency of its composting facilities in Venlo. After an extensive research, Brightwork translated the results in a basic design and a budget for the practical installation. Afterwards a functional demand specification was formulated. With this specification technology suppliers were given the freedom to offer an optimized design.
The realization of this, for Holland unique, anaerobe installation is almost completed. Shortly after start-up, the installation will convert a capacity of 16 metric tons COD per day into biogas.

Revision of anaerobic pretreatment plant Rixona
Rixona B.V., a part of Aviko, has the intention to overhaul the anaerobic wastewater treatment plant at their facilities in Warffum (NL). To coordinate/lead the activities, Rixona instructed Brightwork.
The anaerobic reactor in operation, type UASB, having a volume of 475 m3, goes down to 1981. The systems performance is accurate, but an overhaul is required to guarantee safe and stable operation, also in the future. Next to technical aspects, the technological design will be evaluated, to ensure that possible optimizations can be executed within this project.
It is Rixona’s aim to have a clear insight, before the end of this year, into required activities and the costs that goes with it. Depending on the budget, execution of the work will start at the beginning of 2010.
